Top of The South

Every now and again I come across individuals that pique my curiosity. The idiosyncrasies that people encompass are amazing to me. No two people are ever the same. I truly admire seeing people that have a specific craft acknowledge and embrace what they are good at or what they are mastering. Recently, I have had the pleasure to interview two young men that I see a passion, drive, and determination in. I hope to see these two young men go on to do big things.
T.T.A. is an up and coming artist from Buffalo, New York. He has had a desire to be one of the greatest from the time he was 12- years- old. J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Kodak Black, Lil Wayne, Brent Faiyaz and Lauryn Hill are T.T.A’s main music influences. “These individuals are also influences on how I see the world and create layers on my music as well as how I encompass my sound around Jeremai’s.” Jeremai is T.T.A’s best friend. “I met my best friend Jeremai in my junior year of high school, he was a producer and I was a music artist God plaited in in perfect order so from all this waiting I met a young legend.” T.T.A explains that him and Jeremai are on the “come up on making music.” When they make music the pair use a collage of vintage sounds molding them into a new pioneered version. Recently, T.T. A. and Jeremai dropped a mixtape, ‘Top of the South’. The tape is out on all platforms and T.T.A. explains that “the project has been a long time coming.” In T.T.A.’s opinion rappers now-a- days are just rapping and this is a dilemma. I definitely relate to this idea. While everyone is unique in their own way, its nice to have music that has substance and meaning.
As an artist and “young sound pioneer, me and Jeremai are innovative to the world of rhythm and poetry. T.T.A. has a goal of using his gift to ensure that his family lives a comfortable life. He wants people to feel his “time, dedication , pain and love.” T.T.A wants his music to fulfill someone whether they are sad, angry, hype, or in love. This helps listeners to relate to him, creates a connection between himself and his fans.
