The Enzo Effect

“I’m my brother’s keeper”…. Oh hey! Don’t mind me, I’m just jamming out to Enzo SZN. It’s been a while. Apparently, I took a much-needed hiatus from LIFE. But your girl is back. And I’m coming with the Flava!

Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, Enzo SZN is a Hip- Hop artist who was raised in Staten Island, NY. I love seeing artists from New York. Maybe I’m biased. But there’s something special about them.

From style to swag to intimate commonalities, musical influences have a great impact on individuals who aspire to become artists.  Big Pun, DMX, WU TANG, Lost Boyz, The Lox, ONYX, Jay Z,  and, but not limited to, NAS are the musical influences that captured Enzo SZN’s attention. Great list! When I see the aforementioned names, ONYX sticks out as one of my favorites. ‘SLAM’ plays in my head and brings me back to my childhood in the 90s, sitting at my cousin’s house, jamming out.

Whenever I ask an artist who they would like to collaborate with, I am always intrigued to hear the answer. If Enzo SZN could collaborate with anyone, it would be Joyner Lucas,  “because I love his delivery and his creativity.” I hope to see a collabo between the two.

Distinction

Every artist has a specific style that sets them apart from others. There is nothing greater than being who you are and standing ten toes down on it. People are unique, and that is beautiful to me. Enzo SZN’s songs,  “have a different story that everyone can relate to.” He positively intends to influence Hip- Hop and the music industry without the use of foul language, “so everyone can enjoy it.”

“Don’t Give Up. Kill the noise and keep believing in yourself.” WOW!!! I love this! That is the advice that Enzo SZN would give to someone that is up and coming and hoping to be successful. I’m not an aspiring artist, but I’m certainly going to take this advice.

In one way or another, music captures the attention of all human beings. It has a way of drawing us in. Music helps us feel empowered, soothes our sadness,  and fuels our determination. When asked “what drew you to making music?” Enzo responded, “admiring all the pioneers of hip hop and wanting to make a name for myself.” This answer to me spoke volumes. Seeing the greats that came before him gave Enzo the drive to create music within his own identity.

Enzo SZN likes to make people laugh.
